I sat down this morning to make a birthday card with my Create a Cupcake stamp set and my Cupcake Builder punch. I grabbed my Lucky Limeade stamp pad, stamped my cupcake base on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, and I was ready to start punching. Woo hoo!
Using the back of the punch, it’s easy to line up a stamped image and punch away! Stampin’ Up! has made some really great stamp sets that coordinate perfectly with their punches. In order to properly line up the stamped image, though, you have to have enough cardstock to grip onto outside of the punch range. With the scrap of paper I chose, I couldn’t line up the image on the back of the punch because I was left with no paper to hold onto:
What to do? Would I have to restamp on a larger piece of paper? What a waste that would be! I don’t like to waste paper, and I love using scraps to finish projects (who will know they were leftovers after I am done?) How can I have the best of both worlds? How can I use my scraps AND use my punch? Easy! I adhered a small post-it note to the edge of the paper:
Voila! I used my punch and my scrap paper. AND my post-it note is fine to use again. What a great way to start the day!
What am I going to do with that Lucky Limeade cupcake base? I sense your anticiaption is mounting. I’ll finish that up today and share it with you in a later post.
Thanks for letting my share my tip today. Let me know how it works for you!
